Singapore-based company develops smartphone app for loyalty

Customer reward programs are finding an increasingly larger presence online and on various web-based platforms with Perx, a smartphone app from Singapore-based Maiplay Pte, recently launching a comprehensive suite of services designed to replace all of a consumer’s loyalty cards with a single, easy-to-use reward platform.

“It’s a testament to the sheer number of loyalty cards out there that we’ve seen the emergence of sites such as Perkler to help consumers manage them all,” states an article on SpringWise.com. “Now, bringing such efforts into the mobile world, there’s Perx, a smartphone app from Singapore-based Maiplay Pte. that’s designed to replace all the cards in a consumer’s wallet with a single, easy way to get loyalty rewards.”

Consumers can download the Perx app for free and use QR code technology to scan the label provided by the merchant upon checkout. That information is then transferred to the merchant in lieu of the traditional punch card or stamp card reward card that many consumers carry around in their wallets in hard copy form, taking up valuable space, the news source states.

Although loyalty program mobile apps are nothing new, Perx has emerged as one of the most popular loyalty program apps in Singapore. Willis Wee of Penn-Olson.com recently wrote about the attractive features associated with the program. He wrote Perx is extremely simple to use and easy to navigate with its simplicity marking its strongest advantage. But that is not to say the program is without its flaws.

“The biggest flaw is that I can’t search for what I want,” Wee wrote for the site. “Content is only fed to me based on my location, and I think a search bar would still keep the design simple and also make its list of merchants more accessible. The stamp system unfortunately follows the traditional loyalty program approach where consumers can only claim rewards after collecting, say, 10 stamps.”

Also, Perx has drawn big-name brands across various industries, including current offerings from Polar Puffs & Cakes, the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Dunkin’ Donuts, the article states.
