The Australian human resources training firm MRWED says its online rewards program helped it stay on the annual Best Places to Work list compiled by Business Review Weekly.
“Rewarding and developing staff isn’t just about paying them more money. A workplace needs to be an enjoyable, enriching and energetic environment in order to foster long-term employee loyalty and productivity,” said the company’s founder and CEO, Marc Ratcliffe.
The company’s new online rewards program allows employees to build up points for achieving various goals. As those points build up, they can be traded for free gifts, time off or a charitable donation to an employee’s organization of choice.
Officials also recently introduced the company’s in-house social networking application, which allows employees to quickly and efficiently keep up with what is happening inside the company throughout the day.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that after surveying 1,600 workers, Best Places to Work found that while salary and flexible hours were important, workplace perks and incentives were also a “key” part of employee satisfaction.
