Dell unveils new channel sales incentive program

Dell has announced the implementation of a new channel incentive program for its partners in an attempt to increase market share in the tech and computer manufacturing industry. The PowerEdge campaign will reward partners for each sale of any server bundled with the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V licence.

The incentive is part of a larger program, called Partner Advantage, that seeks to educate and train registered and certified partners.

"The latest incentive campaign focuses on virtualization solutions with Microsoft Hyper-V and will give individuals even greater incentive to build on this core growth opportunity," said Dell marketing manager Cecile Gouzou.

The Dell sales incentive program is part of many programs businesses are using to motivate sales both internally and externally. However, it is equally important to uphold a strong retention rate by implementing similar employee recognition or rewards programs.

Recently, Dell has been urgently seeking expansion opportunities, as last month Texas-based hardware builder lost a massive bidding war to HP over cloud computing company 3PAR, while earlier this month investing $8 billion in new chip manufacturing plants in Arizona and Oregon.
