Enhancements to EMC channel partner programs announced

Data storage provider EMC has announced enhancements to its EMC SourceOne information governance solutions among channel partners. EMC SourceOne was designed to help partners sell and implement solutions for their customers. The system, which was first introduced in April of last year, has helped partners keep up with customer demand and increase profitability in the information governance market.

The EMC global Velocity(2) Incentive Program is being enhanced as part of the effort. The program rewards channel partners while helping them generate incremental revenue. Both company and individual rewards are offered.

Jay DeWalt, vice president of worldwide channels and alliances for EMC’s content management and archiving division, said that as the company continues to invest in incentive programs like Velocity (2), “EMC will continue to see sustained growth and success with our channel partners.”

The company says more than 700 channel partner representatives have completed EMC SourceOne training so far, and more than 60 percent of EMC SourceOne sales in the past year have come through its channel partners.

Earlier this week, EMC announced its first quarter results for 2010. The company saw an overall improved performance, reporting revenue of 3.9 billion in the quarter – a 23 percent jump from the same period one year earlier.
