Microsoft offers partners reward programs to boost channel performance

The Microsoft Partner Program offers partners the chance to be better equipped to make sales while simultaneously improving their own understanding of and commitment to Microsoft products.

The Gold Certified Partner status offered to distributors also gives partners a competitive advantage within the channel. Recently, IntraLinks – an information exchange solutions company – was recognized as a Gold Certified Partner through demonstration of Microsoft competency.

Microsoft officials believe this program not only increases loyalty among their channel partners, but they also believe it guarantees that consumers will have the most positive experience possible with their products.

Allison Watson, corporate vice president of the worldwide partner group at Microsoft, said that customers “need to trust in a company that can act as an expert adviser for their long-term strategic technology plans. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners, which have certified expertise and direct training and support from Microsoft, can build a positive customer experience with our technologies.”

Other business vendors might consider initiating similar channel partner incentive programs at their companies. A study from the Australian Graduate School of Management suggests that loyalty programs that can help distributors handle the product often yield positive results.
