NetSuite to continue channel expansion

After beginning an aggressive channel sales push earlier this year, the Software-as-a-Service vendor NetSuite says it will add more resources to deal with increased sales volume, ChannelWeb reports.

The company’s CEO, Zach Nelson, told analysts on an earnings call that over the first half of this year, the incentive-driven program has increased sales by 27 percent compared with last year, the magazine reports. Nelson also said that the channel "will play a more and more important role" as the company moves forward.

"Our beliefs that this would be the year of the channel have materialized," Nelson said during the call. "That’s on top of what was a pretty healthy channel program to begin with."

To deal with the increased volume, the source says the company is adding more personnel to support the increased capability of partner systems and any service inquiries that may go along with them.

The announcement came just after the company announced its earnings for the year’s second quarter. BusinessWeek reports that after eliminating one-line items, the company turned a profit of $1.9 million – nearly 300 percent better than the $687,000 that had been predicted by analysts.
