Acronis releases global channel partner program

Disaster recovery and data protection solutions provider Acronis recently launched a four-tier global channel partner program to help its partners keep up with information technology changes in the small and medium-sized business sector.

Acronis provides disaster recovery, deployment and migration software to a variety of partners, from value-added resellers to system integrators and service providers.

"We have taken the partner type and size into consideration in creating this program, hoping to provide a new experience to partners that can help them grow and keep up with the evolving market," said David Junca, vice president of sales and channels at Acronis Americas.

The program is open-ended enough to boost margins across a number of business models. Components include knowledge and skill improvement training, a global network of support professionals and extra rebates for partners that introduce new customers to the company by registering for the deal on the Acronis Partner Portal.

In order to advance through partnership tiers, partners must reach increased revenue levels and certification requirements. The higher the tier, the more channel incentive opportunities are offered. These include discounts, rebates, special pricing, marketing collateral and demand generation.

Members of the first level, known as authorized partners, receive recommended price lists, license program price lists, recommended discounts and an assortment of promotions and incentives for their sales efforts. In terms of marketing, they are given access to the partner portal, the marketing center, partner webinars, product documentation such as data sheets, partner newsletters and channel updates. Additionally, they receive free online support, an internal use discount and the opportunity to participate in technical training and certification programs. Authorized partners must collaborate in renewal management and meet minimum revenue goals.

Platinum partners – those who have reached the highest tier – receive additional access to opportunity registration, partner kits, revenue rebates, sales leads, project support with pre-sales engineers, partner location listings, marketing development funds and more technical support. Platinum and gold partners are also invited to attend the Acronis Partner Yearly Summit.

In order to reach platinum status, channel partners must collaborate in renewal management, meet minimum goals related to revenue, marketing activities, their business plan and customer testimonials. Additionally, they are required to earn a variety of sales and technical certifications.
