Cisco aids channel partners with new incentive program
At its global conference in San Francisco this week, Cisco announced plans to help its channel partners grow and evolve. The goal, the company said, is to assist partners as virtualization, collaboration, cloud-based services and video transform the business of information technology.
The new plans feature a series of initiatives designed to help partners improve their business models, including a partner incentive program meant to encourage early engagement with Cisco. Because this engagement between the company and its partners is important, the newly launched Cisco Teaming Incentive Program will reward investment in consulting and professional services.
Edison Peres, senior vice president of the Worldwide Partner Organization and Go-To-Market Group for Cisco, said the company has always supported its partners and is now “building on that tradition with the introduction of new channel initiatives that will help our partners evolve and accelerate with Cisco.”
Criteria for reward through the Teaming Incentive Program will include pre-sales investments, joint account planning, customer relationships and certifications.
Cisco has been in close competition with HP over the companies’ data center strategies. Channel Insider reports that the rivalry has given a new meaning to “partner loyalty,” as partners decide which company to choose.
