EMC announces program enhancements for channel partners
Infrastructure solutions provider EMC recently announced several enhancements to its Velocity Solution Provider Partner program intended to help channel partners increase their profitability.
"To help our partners take market share and grow their business with EMC, we are taking aggressive actions to provide more opportunities for them to increase profitability," said Gregg Ambulos, senior vice president of global channel operations and Americas channel sales at EMC. "Not only does EMC offer the industry-leading products, solution and competitive pricing, we're also committed to providing our Velocity partners with the right tools and resources to allow them to focus on delivering the best possible service to their customers."
The new channel incentives include a new discount structure and access to new marketing campaign assets and a new partner relationship management tool.
In order to reward partner representatives and sales engineers for sales of the company's EMC VNX and EMC VNXe unified storage systems, the series have been added to EMC's Velocity Incentive Program. The program offers stackable individual employee rewards to partners for deals that align with the company's strategic information infrastructure solutions for unified storage, consolidation, backup and recovery, archive and security. Selected products from networking storage and solutions providers Cisco, Brocade and Emulex are also included.
Additionally, partners have been granted access to an online self-service portal designed to aid them in customizing marketing campaigns. Through the portal, they can access new demand generation campaigns such as next generation backup and unified storage for small and medium, midmarket, and enterprise businesses.
The EMC Partner Central relationship management tool was also introduced in order to help partners more efficiently track business transactions, review channel plans and monitor their program compliance. To simplify deal registration, the company's old Prime program was upgraded to a new Base model that is flexible for both incremental and non-incremental opportunities and also allows more upfront, stackable registration discounts.
To accelerate time to market, worldwide partners can now choose to procure VNXe products from any EMC Velocity distributor in their country, and receive Velocity program benefits as part of open distribution.
Network security and threat management solutions provider Fortinet recently announced the launch of new technology specializations for gold and silver international channel partners in its FortiPartner Program, according to Information Technology Planet. The specializations are intended to help companies at the gold and silver levels to benefit from new opportunities within the market.
