IBM offers incentive program as part of new partner offerings

IBM has announced a number of new advantages for its business partners, designed to enhance partners’ knowledge of the company’s strategy and software while helping them create business applications more efficiently. Included is a new incentive program for partners selling IBM software to government clients.

“Our clients’ success often starts with the partner as the first point of contact,” said IBM Software Business Partners vice president Sandy Carter. “With a goal of helping our partners to succeed, these new resources can help our partners fuel innovation and accelerate smarter planet projects with clients.”

The incentive program, known as Value Advantage Plus for Government Sales, allows authorized resellers to gain expertise and experience in sales to government clients at any level. Partners can make themselves eligible for benefits by identifying good opportunities and selling IBM software accordingly.

Members of the company’s PartnerWorld Communities, an exclusive social network, enjoy the additional benefit of the Virtual Summit feature, which allows partners to plan and stage events with clients online.

IBM made news last week by purchasing the privately-held software company Cast Iron Systems. The company expects the global cloud computing market to grow to $126 billion by 2012, Reuters reports.
