IndependenceIT announces new channel partner program

Cloud-based business applications supplier IndependenceIT recently announced the launch of new authorized reseller and channel partner programs that will allow independent software vendors, value-added resellers, solution providers and information technology consultants to give their customers instant access to a cloud-based suite of business applications.

Through the program, partners will be able to offer secure, high-performance access to systems and data from any internet-connected device.

IndependenceIT offers hosted Microsoft applications, data storage and backup services, hosted email and a variety of other cloud services. Its entry-level Instant Freedom Desktop package includes Microsoft Office, QuickBooks financial management software, hosted email accounts and data storage. Its more advanced Total Freedom Desktop package duplicates a customer's existing IT environment using their own software licenses with customized applications and data.

Although the company has worked with partners before, it aims to recruit more solution providers that are looking for ways to embrace cloud computing via the Freedom Partner and Freedom Reseller channel incentive programs.

"Partners and resellers have been asking for an option that will allow them to get their clients into the cloud without having to make the investment in the infrastructure, product development and support organizations," said IndependenceIT CEO Tony Whitton.

The program will offer three subsections for authorized partners, authorized resellers and referral partners.

The referral partner tier will help members who wish to maintain their existing partnerships and also provide clients access to a cloud solution.

ISVs, VARs, solution providers and systems integrators looking to integrate cloud services into their current offerings and sell these under their brand or a co-brand with the company are accommodated under the authorized reseller category. To supplement resellers' efforts to maintain client relationships for administration, service and support, the company will offer a customized solution, including 24-hour technical assistance. Partners' $5,000 annual fee will be refunded if they reach a 250-seat minimum.

Members of the authorized partner program will be able to instantly provide cloud services to their clients. Partners will be able to free themselves of the support responsibilities associated with the first tier by paying a minimal upfront fee to the company. Additionally, IndependenceIT will provide them with customized marketing support, co-branded marketing materials and a 20 percent commission. Partners' $2,500 annual fee will be refunded if they reach a 100-seat minimum.

CRN reports that the company expects the new initiatives to account for up to one-third of its sales.
