Symantec expands channel program for smaller partners
Symantec has expanded its ExSP subscription-based licensing program to allow all of its partners access to the program, instead of just the company’s large service provider partners.
The new partner program will allow partners the option of selling the company’s security or storage software on a monthly subscription instead of a quarterly or yearly one – an option that gives small companies greater flexibility.
The company says the move was motivated by the growth of selling managed services to small business customers.
“By enhancing our ExSP licensing program to make it accessible to our broader partner base, Symantec is enabling partners of all sizes to accelerate profitability and reduce their upfront investments to support growth,” said Randy Cochran, Symantec’s vice president of channel sales in North America.
MSPMentor.com reports that because Symantec was later than other companies in selling to managed service providers, it is still trying to tailor its services for MSPs.
The site says that during its partner conference last year, much of the company didn’t know that many potential attendees were already at another conference in the same area.
